MSTL Admission Information

MSTL Admissions

Any student who holds a bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a regionally accredited college or university may apply for admission to the MSTL program.

  1. Admission to the program is based on the following criteria:
  2. Undergraduate cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale;
  3. Letters of reference from two (2) educational professionals (to be mailed in or submitted electronically);
  4. Professional resume; and
  5. Satisfactory interview
  6. EITHER Graduate Record Examinations (GRE), minimum score of 400 on each of the three general sections [for any score below 400, the student may write a letter qualifying their admission] OR PRAXIS II passing score in applicant’s subject area(s) OR where appropriate, passing scores on the NTE will be considered equivalent to passing scores on PRAXIS II Specialty Tests

Each MSTL applicant must submit the following to the Brescia University Admissions Office:

  1. A completed MSTL application (It is free to apply online!);
  2. Official transcripts from all institutions of higher education previously attended; all undergraduate and graduate course work completed outside of the United States must be evaluated by World Education Services (www.wes.org);
  3. A transcript showing a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or above for the undergraduate degree;
  4. An official test score report on EITHER the GRE General Test [taken within the last five years] OR the PRAXIS II Specialty Test(s);
  5. Two letters of reference from educational professionals; and
  6. A professional resume

The application will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee upon receipt of all required materials. An applicant who meets the above criteria may be accepted unconditionally into the degree program.
Applicants failing to meet the minimum admissions requirements will be considered on an individual basis by the Admissions Committee and the Director of the MSTL Program, who may recommend one of the following:

  1. Grant admission as a regular MSTL student;
  2. Grant admission as a non-degree student (refer to non-matriculated student section of catalog); or
  3. Deny admission.

Credit Hours Required: 35 credit hours.
