The Bachelor of Arts in Theology with Emphasis in Pastoral Studies Degree Program is designed to provide an efficient and high quality delivery of theology and pastoral studies courses. In addition, Brescia University has designed and delivered diocesan education and formation programs, which adhere to the competency expectations of the National Association of Lay Ministry (NALM).

It also aligns with the “Basic Standards of Readiness” as articulated in the National Directory for the Formation, Ministry and Life of Permanent Deacons in the United States. Additionally, nontraditional students taking the courses for general education requirement (GER) credit will gain a basic understanding of Catholic theology.

Curriculum


Emphasis in Pastoral Ministry degree offered by Brescia University’s BUonline program have been declared exempt from the requirements for licensure under provisions of North Carolina General Statues (G.S.) 116-15(d) for exemption from licensure with respect to religious education. Exemption from licensure is not based upon any assessment of program quality under established licensing standards.
